Marketing Analytics Advisory Panel

September 11, 2007

The purpose of the panel is:

  • to advise upon contemporary issues in the field of marketing and how these might be incorporated into course delivery
  • to advise on the nature and implementation of emerging research opportunities
  • to help shape an educational experience for marketing students that enhances their employability and career progression
  • to deliver guest lectures or sponsor projects of mutual interest

One of the topics we would like to discuss on September 25th is the nature of any skills gaps in marketing knowledge that you have observed, and key trends that you see as important study material for effective marketers of the future.

We believe the following topics are worthy of greater emphasis in our programmes, as well as becoming unique executive development courses in their own right. It would be interesting for us all to compare topic lists!

  • understanding and delivering the value proposition
  • the developing role of technology in marketing
  • effective marketing on a small budget
  • developing consumer insights
  • consumer metrics
  • entrepreneurial marketing
  • accountable marketing
  • web analytics

Additionally, we will discuss the requirements of practising  marketing managers, review current MSc and undergraduate programmes and the optimum structure and timing of courses.

Welcome to the Innovative Marketing Courses Blog which is run by the University of Southampton School of Management.
